Voting Meeting
1) Shall the Commission recommend the adoption of term
limits of eight (8) years for Members of the Pennsylvania General Assembly? (Note:
this proposal would require amending the PA Constitution.)
0-12 / 2-10 NO RECOMMENDATION
2) If no to 1, shall the Commission recommend the adoption
of term limits of twelve (12) years for Members of the Pennsylvania General
Assembly? (Note: this proposal would require amending the PA Constitution.)
0-12 / 5-7 NO RECOMMENDATION
3) If no to 1 and 2, shall the Commission recommend the
adoption of term limits of three four-year terms (total of 12 years) for both
the House and Senate in the General Assembly? (Note: this proposal would
require altering the PA Constitution.)
0-12 / 4-8 NO RECOMMENDATION
3a) If term limits are adopted, shall a Member be prohibited
from serving again after serving the maximum number of terms?
3b) If no to 3a, shall a
term-limited Member be required to engage in a “sit-out” period, after which he
or she would be eligible to serve again?

4) Shall the Commission recommend that chairs of standing
committees shall be limited to three (3) consecutive terms on the same
committee provided that, at the end of the three consecutive terms the Chair
would be permitted to assume the chair of another committee; and, a chair would
be granted an extension at the conclusion of the three (3) consecutive terms if
there is no other available committee for him/her to transition
