House Rule 3
Order
and Decorum
The Speaker or
Presiding Officer shall preserve order and decorum. In case of any disturbance
or disorderly conduct in the galleries or lobbies, the Speaker shall have the
power to order the same to be cleared.
The Speaker or Presiding
Officer shall have the right to summon Legislative Security Officers to enforce
in the preservation of order and decorum, and if needed, to summon the State
Police to assist.
The Sergeant-at-Arms
and Legislative Security Officers under the direction of the Speaker or the
Presiding Officer shall, while the House is in session, maintain order on the
floor and its adjoining rooms and shall enforce the rule with respect to the
conduct of members, staff and visitors.
