Healthy Kids Day happening at YMCA

PHILADELPHIA, April 8 – State Rep. Dennis O’Brien and the Northeast Family YMCA will host a special event this Saturday to promote healthy activities and habits for kids.

“I invite residents of my legislative district, their kids and grandkids, to join us at Healthy Kids Day 2008. We will have information about safety, community programs in the Northeast, and lots of fun things to do at the YMCA,” O’Brien said.

The event runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at the Northeast Family YMCA, 11088 Knights Road.

There will be games to play and a moon bounce for younger children. Representatives of the Philadelphia Phantoms hockey team, the Police Department, Department of Recreation, and the Department of Human Services will be on hand.

In addition, the Masons will offer their popular Child Identification Program which gives parents a DVD of their child talking with an interviewer as well as a DNA identification kit that lets parents collect a sample of their child’s hair in case it’s ever needed to help find a child who is missing.
