Speaker O’Brien to appear on Pa. Cable Network call-in program

HARRISBURG, June 6 – Speaker of the House Dennis O’Brien will be the guest on tonight’s live call-in program on the Pennsylvania Cable Network. 

PCN will broadcast the call-in program live at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 6. It will be rebroadcast later tonight.

Since becoming Speaker on Jan. 2, O’Brien has led the House in making a series of improvements to make the institution more open and accessible, including establishing a Speaker’s Office that operated independently of both party caucuses; creating the Speaker’s Commission on Legislative Reform; adoption of revised House rules in March; Internet posting of roll-call votes; and most recently, the addition of closed captioning to televised broadcasts of House sessions.

O’Brien was first elected to represent the 169^th District in northeast Philadelphia in 1976.
